(Since I’m in this picture with my lovely family, photo credit goes to Ben 🙂 )
The second part of my New York photos focuses on people. My Dad keeps telling me to photograph people more as they tell the story of a place. And New York City has got to be one of the most diverse places I’ve ever been to, which makes it great for people-watching. Love it!
So on our short trip I really pushed myself to photograph more people as my main subject. That, however, can be intimidating and difficult. The problem arises when I point my camera in people’s direction and what do they do? They jump out of my view thinking they’re in my way. As a result, a lot of the ‘people’ shots have people from behind. It’s a safer way to photograph humans and they can’t avoid me if they can’t see me, right? 🙂 Other times you just have to be real quick in snapping a photo while people aren’t paying attention and just keep walking.
Overall, it was a really fun weekend and I hope we get to go back soon!
